Is Man United's mess all Louis Van Gaal's fault?

Manchester United are in a big nasty crisis.
I didn't expect this mess when David Moyes was dismissed, when the Dutchman was hired, and when he then went on to spend over £300million to improve the squad. And I’m positive most Red Devil fans didn’t see it coming either.
But so it has happened.

United have been knocked out of the Champions League, are playing a really boring brand of football, have lost consecutive league games and have just been whacked in the ass by newcomers Bournemouth.

Van Gaal’s side have scored fewer goals than any in the top 6 and have Tottenham’s home loss to Newcastle to thank for their continued stay in the top 4.

In United’s defence, they have a host of first teamers out injured and ended the loss at Bournemouth with none of Darmian, Rojo, Schneiderlin, Rooney, Smalling, or Young, on the pitch. But with so much emphasis previously laid on Van Gaal's penchant to blood youngsters into greatness, it has turned awkward with the average age of the first eleven at Bournemouth just over 24 years, the 6th youngest in United's history.

That's where I blame the United manager.

Why sell off the likes of Chicharito, Evans, Cleverly, Nani, Welbeck, Van Persie, and Di Maria knowing well that a couple of injury could expose the squad depth (lack of) that now endeangers their season.

It's tough for the manager. But it's difficult for the fans to see that his decisions have been for the overall benefit of the club.
Would Ferguson have let go of Di Maria? Maybe not! Like he did when Cristiano Ronaldo first broke into the United's first team, the legendary gaffer would most likely have adapted the team's play to suit the Argentine wizard.

Would the Scot have sold half of the team in one fell swoop? Absolute No!
No reason can excuse the error of placing all the European and Premier League hopes of one of the biggest clubs in the world on the shoulders of a 19year old Martial, a misfiring Rooney and a clutch of inexperienced youths.

All of these while sticking with a footballing philosophy that has restricted United's attacking flow and number of goals scored.

So on all count, Van Gaal is guilty has charged. It's a surprise that he's still in charge after a very miserable week.
Manchester United will not win the league this season bar an unexpected miracle. And Van Gaal's head may roll in response any moment from now.
